Mentor Training Requirement
Mentor Training Requirement
As part of our ongoing commitment to strengthening the OSUCCC training environment and ensuring alignment with NIH expectations, we are implementing a new mentor training requirement for all faculty who serve as mentors in any CAMELOT-sponsored programs (CREATES, PSP) or on NIH-funded training grants (e.g., T32, K awards, R25 programs). All mentors must provide proof of mentor training completed within the past five (5) years. This training will remain valid for five years from the date of completion. If you have completed mentor training in the last five years: Please email kelly.wolfe@osumc.edu with the following information:
- Name of the training
- Training format (e.g., in-person, online module, workshop series)
- Date of completion
- Proof of completion (certificate, email, etc.)
If you have NOT completed formal mentor training in the past five years:
CAMELOT has evaluated the available options and recommends the following mentor training program(s):
**RECOMMENDED** Minnesota Online Mentoring program (Approx. 120 min): Optimizing the Practice of Mentoring 101: For Research Mentors of Graduate Students, Fellows, and Early-Career Faculty
Please note: you will need to create a guest account for the University of Minnesota to access the Mentor Training options. There is a PDF with detailed instructions after clicking the above link. This document is titled "External users: Registration guide."
