Shared Equipment Database
The Asset Record Keeper (ARK) is a centralized system developed by the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center (OSUCCC) to track all capitalized and specialty equipment purchased with OSUCCC funds. Managed and updated by the Space, Operations, and Projects (SOP) team, ARK summarized equipment under the following groups:
- Shared Equipment: Managed by the SOP team; free for cancer center members and staff.
- Shared Resource Equipment: Specialized instrumentation available on a fee-basis.
- IMDP Equipment: Technical assets available on a fee-basis.
- PI-Owned Equipment: Individually owned assets shared only at the Principal Investigator's discretion.
The system provides a comprehensive directory with filters for manufacturer, model, technical capability, and location. Examples include:
- Imaging: Confocal microscopes and IR/Chemi/UV imagers.
- Genomics/Analysis: Next-generation sequencers, RT-PCR, and qPCR machines.
- Cellular/Protein: Multi-laser flow cytometers and mass spectrometers.
- Lab Support: Ultra-pure water, cell counters, incubator shakers, and ultra and high-speed centrifuges.
- Detection: Specialized plate readers.
Streamline your research workflow by using ARK to identify accessible technology without the need of purchasing redundant equipment.
NOTE: In the future, ARK will also be used for annual PI equipment audits to streamline the process.
