We currently follow the guidance from the College of Medicine for Food provided at University functions per information below:

Dear Department Chairs, Center Directors, Faculty, and Administrators,

All faculty and staff are expected to exercise prudent fiscal management when considering expenditures, including whether the good or service is necessary to the mission of the university.

In accordance with University Expenditure Policy, we will not allow food or beverage at recurring meetings except for those that involve learners. The university’s expenditure policy has always contained this restriction, but we formerly obtained preapproved exceptions from campus. We will no longer permit such exceptions. You may, however, provide food and beverages at meetings and events that are non-recurring and take place no more than four times per year. Exceptions for recurring meetings that involve learners must be submitted to the Finance Office for approval.
