Disinfecting Surfaces
Proper Disinfecting Methods for Surfaces
- Use 70% ethanol spray to clean and disinfect surfaces.
- Use 10% bleach on benchtops when BSL2 work is completed but you must wipe down with ethanol after a few minutes to prevent damage to the benchtops.
- Use 10% bleach on benchtops (contact time 30 mins) when there is a spill containing BSL2 material, but you must wipe down with ethanol after proper contact time prevent damage to the benchtops.
- If there is any liquid spilled on surfaces, clean it up immediately.
- Use soapy water to clean debris off benchtop.
